Intermediate Archery Lessons

Intermediate ArcheryIntermediate archery builds on the critical foundations established in Beginning archery as we teach the last five steps of the National Training System. Archers in this course will begin to learn how to adjust and use a target site as well as begin to learn some beginning principals of using back tension to execute their shot. This program lasts for 5 weeks, and all equipment is provided. Completion of Beginning Archery from a certified program is required.

Our range requires that all participants wear a closed toe shoe. Sandals and Flip flops which do not enclose the toe are not permitted for participants. Spectators are welcome to wear these types of shoes.

Week 1 Anchor

This weeks instruction will focus on transitioning the archer to an under the chin anchor point and establishing the two points of contact philosophy.

Week 2 Transfer/Hold

Learn the beginning movements of back-tension and why it’s relevant to you executing a consistent shot.

Week 3 Aim

What does it really mean to aim? If you guessed holding the bow steady, then there is much to teach you. Learn how to make a site work with you.

Week 4 Release/Follow Through

Find out why all the work you put into getting to this point can be wasted in a tenth of a second.

Week 5 Progress Test

How has what you learned thus far, helped you to improve your consistency.
